*** Students - If you have been absent from one of my LA, SS, or Reading classes it is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to check in to see what in-class activities & homework assignments you may have missed.  Please hand in all homework that would have been collected from you on the day you were absent as well.  Homeroom period on the morning you return is the best time to get caught up with me.

***Parents:  Students often use this site, but it is my expectation that they will continue to write down homework as assigned during class in their Assignment Pads.  I consider the website more as a tool for parents to use to make sure students are staying on track with their responsibilities.  Please contact me with any questions that may arise.

Writer's Notebook for First Marking Period -

It is our expectation that you write some in your writer's notebook each week (about a page each school day; or = about 5 pages/ week).  Think of this as the writing equivalent to the 20 minutes of reading you are expected to do each day.

We want you to be INDEPENDENT writers.  We get better at writing by writing...

Some days, we will ask you to write on specific topics.  These specific, in-class assignments will be considered part of the minimum 5 page/week expectation.

For            , students should write 5 pages. ( 5, so far, for the 1st marking period)
